In six months, we’ll be complaining about the heat

By Paula Jones

Hello from Baldwin.

How is everyone’s week going? I hope that everyone is having a great one.

I hope that everyone is able to stay warm in the frigid temperatures that we are having. It has been a very long time since we have had these cold of temperatures for so many days straight.

I am looking for some warmer weather, which they are speaking of, but then they are saying rain and more snow. We will have to wait and see.

All the farmers in the community and surrounding communities continue to be busy feeding their livestock. It has to be so hard on the animals and the farmers in these temperatures. Before we know it, grass will be spouting up, trees budding and flowers blooming, then comes the heat and everyone will be saying, it is so hot. You wait and see, somebody will say it. It will probably be me.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to a young man in our church, Caleb Damron. He will be celebrating his 13th birthday on Saturday. I hope you have a wonderful birthday and many more happy ones to come.

Happy birthday wishes go out next week to a dear friend over on Poosey Ridge, Krista R. Farthing; a dear friend in Irvine, Janet Smith; and a very special dog, my black lab, Sally Sue Jones, who will be turning 8 on Monday; Gabe Perkins and Nevada Combs, Wednesday; Adam Brown, Thursday; and Regina Lovings, Saturday. I hope that you all have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.

The Baldwin 4-H Club will meet next Thursday night at the fellowship hall of Bethel Christian Church at 6:30 p.m. But please remember if there is no school that day because of bad weather, there will not be a meeting. I hope to see you there. If you have a child who is interested in 4-H, we invite you to bring them to the meeting and join us. Please bring some refreshments to share.

Well, I guess that’s all for now, so let me know if you hear any news, just give me a call at 623-4579 or e-mail me at
