Hay Auction This Saturday

RICHMOND — If you have plans to buy or sell hay this winter, mark your calendar for Saturday January 18 at 10 a.m. for our sixth annual hay auction at the Madison County Fairgrounds. All types of hay and straw will be available. We will have large rolls (5 x 6), small rolls (4 x 5) and small square bales for sale. Lot sizes will vary so that you can buy a few bales or several. Loading and unloading of hay will be available on site.

Alfalfa/grass, mixed grass, grass/clover, timothy mix and straw will be available for sale.

Hay will be tested for nutrient levels by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture on Friday January 17. We will also take an average bale weight for each lot of hay or straw. The weight and nutrient content of each lot will be posted prior to sale.

Hay can be delivered Wednesday Jan 15 through Friday January 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Hay will not be accepted on sale day. The auction will be held in the indoor arena and will take place rain, snow or shine.

This is the only hay sale in central Kentucky where you can purchase hay that has been tested for nutrient content and an average bale weight given. You will know what you are buying at this sale.
