Warm up at annual Humane Society/ALL chili supper Friday

Register staff report

RICHMOND — With winter weather still going strong in the Bluegrass, a chili supper to support a local animal welfare group may be the perfect end to the week.

The Madison County Humane Society/Animal League for Life is hosting its annual Fiesta Bowl Chili Supper from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Russel Acton Folk Center, 212 W. Jefferson St., Berea.

Adult meals are $12, which also includes a Fiesta dinnerware bowl to take home. The meal includes meat or vegetarian chili, cornbread, drinks (iced tea, fruit punch and water) and dessert, which will be cakes and pies handmade by volunteers.

Children’s meals are $5 and do not include a Fiesta dinnerware bowl. Hot dogs and chips can be substituted instead of chili.

The Madison County Dulcimers will be providing musical entertainment during the meal.

All proceeds from the dinner will go to programs run by the local Humane Society/ALL, which include the animal rescue fund, the low-cost spay-and-neuter clinic for local residents and the Trap, Neuter, Return program for feral cats.
