Different computer and new programs

By Katie Rollins

PAINT LICK — Good Morning Readers:

It’s a warm and muggy, Tuesday this July 16, and I hear it’ll be this way for the remainder of the week.

I am trying out a different computer with many more items (or whatever you call those things) than I am used to having right at my fingertips, and until I get the hang of all these new programs, my patience will be at an all time high.

We volunteers here at Friends of Paint Lick are grateful for the recent donation from The New Opportunity School for Women in Berea and most appreciative for their help in finding Cathy Nell of ‘E Systems’ with her knowledge in obtaining a better system with our computer.

Cathy is a whiz! Thank You.

Doug and I were later than most in getting our garden in shape, but the weeds still know how to keep me busy.

I did get my tomatoes cleaned up, and now the rain has slowed, I hope I’ll be able to string some Missouri Wonder Beans. My sister Betty first introduced me to these great tasting flat pole beans, and I place them second only to my White half runners. They are absolutely my favorite.

I see the Wildcat Transmission Garage is already open this morning and that is good. There are a few people I know who are needing work on their auto air conditioning – not to mention a few other troubles with my vehicle.

It is good to know they are in Paint Lick and willing to work. Stop by and get to know Art Gibson and Shannon Smith at Wildcat Transmission

The Paint Lick Community Arts Center building is still on the housing market with Yvette of Realty Executives of the Bluegrass. You may call Yvette at 582-5977 for a tour of this beautifully renovated apartment complex. The place was completely redone.

The Paint Lick community is missing the happenings of Hal and Yvonne Davis who are, I know enjoying their home back in Indiana. Those two people brought life to this small town and we’ll always be thankful for all the good they accomplished.

The Paint Lick Book Club will meet again the first Tuesday night of August. If you are interested in joining us, it’s free and we would love to have you. Call us here at Friends, 925-2417.
