‘In the Key of G’ spring concert to raise funds for McCready Manor generator

RICHMOND — Last fall, the McCready-Telford Foundation kicked off a fundraising campaign for an emergency generator for McCready Manor, which provides assisted living housing to senior citizens. More than $100,000 has already been committed toward the $170,000 goal with many gifts from residents at St. Andrews Place and their families.

Berea residents, Beth and Gene Kleppinger, and their son Jonathan are now contributing their talent to the cause.

They will present a concert — “In the Key of G” — to benefit the generator fund at 7 p.m. April 25 at the First Presbyterian Church in Richmond. The program will include various kinds of music on the organ and piano.

The centerpiece of the church’s instrumental music is the Brown Eddins Telford tracker (mechanical) organ with 1,464 pipes. It was purchased from the Casavant Frères Organ Builders of Quebec (Canada) and first played in Richmond in 1967.

The public is invited and there is no charge. However, donations will be greatly appreciated, said Stephanie Harris, executive director of the McCready-Telford Foundation.

Those unable to attend but wishing to make a tax-deductible contribution may send it to The McCready-Telford Foundation, 300 Stocker Dr., Richmond, KY 40475.
