WACO — Hi! Is it gloomy enough for you?

Wow, from 80 degrees to low 40s in the space of a week!

The weather is certainly the news around here, whether it is our own chills or the onslaught of superstorm Sandy and the havoc she wrecked on the East Coast. She’s still around, with some of her swirling clouds still coming into Kentucky – what a week!

Thanks to all the area churches and organizations who helped trick-or-treat night by providing trunk-n-treats at your location so the goblins and such could get a load of loot this Halloween without  much discomfort.

There are a few things still going on this weekend, like tomorrow (Friday) night there will be gospel music singing and food at Waco Lodge on College Hill Road.

From the Madison County Extension office to pass along to you: If anyone is interested in attending or participating in a meeting to start a new Waco Extension Homemaker Club, please contact the extension office.

There will be an informational meeting Thursday, Nov. 15, at 5:30 p.m. at the county extensioncenter, 230 Duncannon Lane. Anyone interested in learning more about finances, managing their home, family relationships, nutrition, heritage skills and serving their community through Extension Homemakers is invited and encouraged to attend.

Call 623-4072 to let them know you’re coming (so they’ll have enough refreshments.)

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Gina Noe, Madison County Family and Consumer Science Agent, at 623-4072.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Karoline Prichta, Oct. 26; Linda Stanifer, Oct. 28; and Leona Brandenburg, Nov. 8.

Wishes for a happy anniversary go out to Andy and Courtney Dunn, Oct. 28.

That’s about it for this week. Have a great one!

(Did you enjoy your birthday dinner last Friday evening, Calvin Marshall? We heard you did!)
