Hi! Hope your spring break is going well. The sunshine helps a lot, though the temperatures are a smidgen cooler than one may like. The coming weekend forecast looks great with 70s peeking in!
For those of you who have children between the ages of 3 and 5 (after October 1), screening dates for Madison County preschool registration (Madison County schools, Richmond Head Start and Berea Head Start) will be beginning April 19. May 17 and May 24 also are included as registration dates with other dates to be determined.
To begin the process, please call the Madison County Preschool Department at 625-6037. Eligibility is based on family income, unless the child has a disability.
Flatwoods Christian Church will be taking photos for the new directory. Call the church, if you haven’t signed up for yours yet. There’s still slots open.
Happy birthday wishes to Tina Fox, March 29; Patty Willis, March 31; Debbie Davidson and Roseanna Wilson, April 3; Deidra Brown and Devonna Hensley Abner, April 6; Courtney VanWinkle Dunn, April 7; and Sue Rice, April 11.
Happy anniversary wishes go out to Marion and Anna Fox, April 9.
Deepest sympathies to the family of Myrtle Lee Pitcher Mason, 83, formerly of Waco, the widow of Evans “Tojo” Mason, who passed away Sunday, March 24, at Baptist Health in Richmond.
Sympathies also are extended to the family of Anna Spivey Pucket who passed away March 20.
Sympathies are offered to the family and friends of “Chick” Whittaker who passed away last week. Chick was one of those people who you thought would be around forever. His presence surely will be missed.
That’s about it for this week. Have a great one!
Congratulations to Mildred Maupin for having her meatloaf appear in the Lexington Herald-Leader on March 6, thanks to Audrey Cooper who submitted this recipe.
