January has come to a close with gusty, spring-like weather and storms (Tuesday night into Wednesday) and Wednesday night into Thursday. Friday we should be facing winter-like weather with below freezing temperatures again (possibly) snow!
What one word could one use for this winter?
Hmm ... roller coaster?
That’s two, or a hyphenated one word, it has been an unusual, unpredictable one for sure!
There’s not much going on out this way except the virus/bug thing is still visiting families and lingering around for a few weeks it seems.
Stomach “bugs” seem to be on the wane. These ailments seem to get better, then come back with the same initial force.
Have you noticed that pattern around your place?
Happy birthday wishes go out this week (today, actually,) to Kevin Dennis!
Reminders: Flatwoods Christian Church is still collecting cans for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity – just bring them to the picnic shelter and they’ll be picked up. Also, there are DVD recordings of each Sunday (and special) service for anyone who wants one. Just cal the church.
Choubert and Bernadette Remy lead the church work and the Russell School at Gallette Goureau northeast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
The mission receives donations to the following funds: General Operating Fund, Church Building Fund, Bible Institute Fund and Feed Program for Children.
If you would like to help, send donations to: Haiti Christian Mission, P.O.Box 127, Waco, KY 40385.
There’s still time to purchase a memorial brick for the Waco Elementary Walking Trail.
Just call Lorena Webb at the school and let your wishes be known.
We’re still trying to locate the missing bricks, already engraved. Have you seen them or know where they are?
If so, we’d love to hear from you – just let Lorena know (as above.)
That’s about it for this week. Have a great one.
I almost forgot – groundhog watching day is Saturday!
