Richmond ‘wish kid’ spends week in Magic Kingdom

Register Staff Report

RICHMOND — Kelsey Gadd, 6, was selected by the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a weeklong trip in July to Disney World in Florida.

Kelsey was born with a congenital heart defect and has since had multiple heart surgeries. Her mom, Jessica Gadd, said Kelsey is doing “really well” right now.

The Mayfield Elementary student visited the Magic Kingdom and got to meet several of her Disney princess idols, including Rapunzel, Cinderella, Snow White and Ariel. She also met with everyone’s favorite rodent, Mickey Mouse.

Friday evening, members of the Chi-Omega sorority at Eastern Kentucky University participated in a Walk for Wishes fundraiser to sponsor “wish kids” such as Kelsey.
