Hello from Baldwin. How is everyone’s week going?
I hope everyone is having a great one.
Well, we went from heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday to snow on Monday and Tuesday, now I hope the sun will shine and the temperatures will warm up some.
Happy Resurrection Day to all this Sunday. Yes, Sunday is what we call Easter Sunday, and it is the day that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ rose from the grave on the third day after His death.
We hunt Easter eggs and celebrate with bunnies and chocolate rabbits and other candies, but let us pause and remember Jesus died on that old rugged cross long, long ago and came out of the grave that he was placed in on that third day, just as it was prophesied.
So, this year as we are hunting eggs, eating candy and especially as we worship in the house of the Lord, let’s be thankful He died for our sins and rose from that grave for all of us.
If you don’t have a home church to worship at, I would like to invite you to worship with us at Bethel Christian Church. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. followed by worship service at 11 a.m. May you and your family have a blessed Easter.
Don’t forget the pre-Easter revival at Salem Christian Church tonight and Friday night. Services will be at 7 p.m. both nights with Bro. Raymond Tincher preaching each evening.
Happy birthday wishes go out next week to Emma King, Monday; a very happy birthday with to my sister, Myra Isbell and Katelyn Dixon, Wednesday; an old and dear friend, Lisa Webb, Thursday; John Chasteen, Friday; and Xzavier Robinson, Saturday.
I hope all of you have very happy birthdays and many more happy ones to come.
Happy anniversary wishes go out next week to Greg and Susan Harvey on Monday. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary and many more happy ones to come.
On Saturday, April 6, Baldwin Ruritan Club will sponsor a community roadside clean-up and we need the community’s help.
We want to help keep our community beautiful by cleaning it up. The club has placed flyers and garbage bags in most everyone’s mail box in the community and asks if you could pick up on your on property and place the bag on the side of the road. It will be picked up on Saturday.
There will be a county truck to put it in. But, no household garbage, no paint and no tires can be placed in the truck Please do not bring old tires, we can not take them.
If you can help other than on your own property, we will meet at the home of Ellen Harvey at 9 a.m. Saturday. Hope to see you there.
On Saturday, April 20, Baldwin Ruritan Club will be sponsoring a rabies clinic along with Town and Country Veterinary Clinic. The clinic will be at the shop across from the home of Ellen Harvey at 315 Whitlock Road.
Veterinarian Gary Short will be giving the vaccinations from noon until 1 p.m. The vaccinations will cost $5 each. Please bring your pet in a pet carrier or on a leash.
A friend of mine called the other day and asked me to tell you about a yard sale that is going to be in front of Richmond Walmart on Saturday, April 6, from noon until dark.
The yard sale is sponsored by the Women’s Care Center- Baptist Health and all proceeds go to the March of Dimes.
This a wonderful group of ladies so stop by and see if you can find something you really need. Now, mark your calendar, April 6, and don’t forget.
