PAINT LICK — It’s a breezy Tuesday morning with the sun shining for all it’s worth, making way for a warmer than usual day ahead.

The sky is a beautiful shade of bright blue and so very clear.

This community is saddened by the passing of Loyal, “Buddy” Brummet this past Saturday, April 20.

He resided for many years on Gillespie Pike, being a well-known friend, farmer and “chicken man.”

Buddy was much loved by his family and I know he will be missed.

Private services for Brummet will be this Saturday at Lowell Cemetery. My sympathies go out to his wife, Judy, and his family.

A community farmer’s market is planned for this coming Friday afternoon, April 26, from 4-6 p.m.

It will feature a variety of farm fresh eggs, produce, seedlings, plants, herbs and freshly baked herb breads by Deborah.

This community market is open to anyone wishing to set up their display of vegetables or foods. It will continue from April 26 through Sept. 27, every Friday afternoon.

Electricity and water will be available in the big barn lot and you will have to bring your own display tables.

Deborah Messenger welcomes you to Halcomb’s Knob off Old Wallacetown Road. You can call her at 925-9936  for more information.

I do plan on visiting the market, then I hope to go to Lighthouse Baptist Church on Gabbardtown Road in Berea. There will be host of singers, including the Smith Sisters, at the church that evening, starting at 6 p.m. Brother Roy Himes and his wife, Kay, welcome everyone for a great evening.

Also, this Friday night from 4 to 8 p.m., Round Hill Grocery and restaurant will be serving up “absolutely the best fish, hush puppies, fried potatoes, cole slaw and beans in all the world.” Lots of fresh desserts, coffee and drinks, too.

It should be an extra nice evening with all that’s happening.

A happy birthday wish for a special man in the life of Paint Lick Christian Church. Rev. James Cox will celebrate another year young on Tuesday April 30.

Have a wonderful day and May God bless.
