GED classes set to begin on Monday

Hello readers, another beautiful week with just a hint of cold weather and our first frost of the fall season arrived in Paint Lick to announce an end to the harvesting time. We should have some rather nice autumn days in the week ahead, with day temperatures in the 60s and chilly nights.

GED classes will again be offered at The Friends of Paint Lick on Monday evenings from 5 to 7 p.m. and you can register this Monday evening at Friends or you may call 1-859-792-1240. These classes are sponsored by Garrard County Adult Education and friends. If you have an interest, please feel free to join us on Oct. 26.

It’s time for Revival at Leavell Green Christian Church. The event started on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and will run through Sunday evening, Oct. 25, beginning time is 7 p.m.

Everyone is welcome to share in their singing praises. Workers are cleaning up around Rick’s Diner. You’ll see them most every day tearing down and boarding up. The news is ... they hope to have our one and only, favorite store in Paint Lick open before Christmas. I always did love to see the many, bright, Christmas decorations that filled the store every year. So, I keep on looking and hoping. They will get it done, I’m sure.

Happy birthday to Ceyrl Green this Tuesday, Oct. 20. I hope he has a good day. To my big sis, Emma Anglin of Jackson Holler (I’ll always call it that), a great big hug and a great day on Monday, Oct. 26. I know you’ll be reading this, sis, I love you. I have special prayers for another sister this evening as she goes through a tough time, Joyce has endured more illnesses than I can even begin to talk about and I pray for her always. If you have a mother, please treat her good and let her know you love her ... come what may. You’ll not have any regrets when “time comes to pay up.” Another old saying from a great friend is always a true one.
