Union City Day is this Saturday. There will be music, food, games, yard sales and many other things for the whole family.
Ruritan members are selling $5 raffle tickets for some great prizes. First place is a 32- inch flat screen television, second is a camcorder, third is a digital camera and there will be five $10 cash prizes. The drawing will be in the afternoon of Union City Day.
Union City Christian Church will have a Relay for Life fundraising event Saturday. It will begin with a steak dinner at 6 p.m., followed by a cake and pie auction. In addition to cakes and pies, other items will be on the silent auction list including tickets for movies and ball games, restaurant gift certificates, oil changes, John Deere collectibles and many others.
There will be a special meeting at 2 p.m. for the Flatwoods Cemetery on Sunday, May 24 at Flatwoods Christian Church Fellowship Hall, located on College Hill road at Waco. Cemetery board members plus all people who have relatives buried there are invited.
We are sorry to hear that Carroll Sowers had many serious injuries while working with cattle this week and hope he has a complete and quick recovery. He would appreciate your prayers.
Our hearts go out to all who suffered damage during last Friday’s tornado. From Kirksville to Waco, the scenes are heartbreaking. It is a reminder that life can be turned upside down in just a few seconds.
