Model Laboratory School third-graders recently learned more about natural resources on a visit to Maywoods, an environmental and educational laboratory at Eastern Kentucky University. Students rotated through hands-on activities at four stations, keeping journals and writing reflections on the activities and answering instructors’ questions. The final event of the day found the students looking at the biodiversity in the creek that runs through Maywoods. The next day, students from the county schools visited Maywoods, which straddles the Garrard-Rockcastle county line.
