Pentagon moves to reduce stigma of mental counseling
Advocates of better mental health care for troops say a new Pentagon policy aimed at reducing the stigma of getting psychiatric counseling could be a small but important step.

Thursday
• Madison County Board of Adustments, 5:30 p.m., county courthouse.
Friday
• State of the county address, noon, Madison County Extension Center, 230 Duncannon Lane. Co-sponsored by Richmond, Berea chambers of commerce. For tickets, $15, call 623-1720 or 986-9760. No tickets will be sold at the door.
• Spring Celebration, 6 p.m., First Baptist Church, Eastern Bypass, featuring Joe Castillo in a dramatic presentation and the FBC Shekinah Youth Choir. Hors d’oeuvres reception will follow. Tickets are $18 each and can be purchased at the church office Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Children 12 and younger and FBC 80-Plus Club members are free.
• Madison County Civil War Roundtable, 6:30 p.m., Boone Tavern, Berea. Chris Kolakowski, director of the Perryville Enhancement Project, will speak on the Second Battle of Fredericksburg. For reservations, call 623-8979 by noon Thursday.
