Sir James Galway, widely regarded as the world’s greatest living flutist, presented a master class Monday evening at the EKU Center for the Arts. About 275 faculty and students from colleges and high schools across the region took part. Most members of the audience brought their instruments, joining Galway in practicing scales and timing. Four students, including one from EKU, received individual instruction. In addition to an opportunity to learn from a master, they were regaled with stories from his career. Galway and his wife, Jeanne, performed Tuesday night at the EKU Center with the Irish Chamber Orchestra.
