Students could be heard practicing everywhere, said music teacher Abby Fowler. They practiced “in the hallways, cafeteria, classrooms and at home, for their music ‘homework.’”
Glenn Marshall Elementary first-grade students began practicing in January for “When I Grow Up,” a career-based musical program, Fowler said. Each group attended music class once a week for 45 minutes to rehearse.
“This is not an easy program for young students to perform, and it took a lot of dedication and hard work,” she said.
This is the second annual spring musical for the school’s first-graders. The month of March is “Music in Our Schools Month” and this was a way for students to celebrate, Fowler said.
