Register Staff Report

BEREA — The Madison Southern Eagle Players, the high school’s theater troupe, will open its 2013-14 season Thursday with Alan Haehnel’s, “What I Want to Say but Never Will”

The play is a compilation of monologues about teens and the things they wish they could say, but feel they cannot.

It will be performed at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday

Tickets are $5 for students and $8 general admission. Sunday matinee tickets are $5.

The Eagle Players have qualified for participation in the Kentucky Theatre Association’s High Schools Festival in which high school from across the state compete for two spots in the Southeast Theatre Conference in March.

In addition to the KTA festival, the MSHS students will compete in the Eastern Kentucky Dramatic Arts Society (EKDAS) festival April 26, which will be hosted for the first time by Madison Southern.

Schools from the mountain regions of Kentucky will bring one-act shows to Berea to be judged by area theater professionals.
