    After a two-hour delay Friday morning, the prosecution in Christina Marcum’s murder trial resumed its case about 11 a.m. by playing a recorded conversation between Marcum and Jason Singleton.
    He has already pleaded guilty to complicity in the 2011 murder of his wife, Angela Frazier Singleton, and is serving a 30-year sentence.

  • Searches reveal suspected heroin trafficking in two Richmond homes

    Berea police officers and Madison County sheriff’s deputies arrested four people Thursday on drug trafficking charges after a large amount of heroin were found in two Richmond homes.
    Christopher Mullins, 21; Jermaine Twilley, 42; and Jermaine Benning, 24; all were charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
    Jennifer Mullins, a resident of one of the homes in the 4000 block of North Cross Point Court, and Christopher Mullins also were charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, according to a report from the Berea Police Department.

  • Burglaries, thefts reported to RPD

    Wednesday
    • A representative of Main Street Storage, 455 E. Main St., reported that the locks had been cut from 11 storage units during the night. Entry was gained to the grounds by cutting a hold through a rear chain link fence. The only items missing were two unknown brand, nonfunctioning televisions, taken from one of the storage units. Estimated loss: $200.

    A Tyner man was charged with indecent exposure and assaulting a police officer Saturday following a shoplifting incident at Meijer.

    Kevin J. Coldiron, 39, also was charged with second-degree robbery, first-degree criminal trespassing, second-degree disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
