Police investigate Thursday night shooting

One man shot, treated at UK

Register staff report

RICHMOND — Richmond police do not have any suspects yet in a shooting Thursday night that left a man with two bullet wounds.

The RPD reported that a man was shot in the thigh and lower abdomen around 6 p.m., according to a news release. He went to a home in the 100 block of Lowery Heights for help, and police were called, according to the RPD.

Chief Larry Brock declined to identify the victim, who was taken by ambulance to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment of “nonlife-threatening injuries,” the release stated.

The victim was interviewed today, but he “couldn’t provide any useful information,” Brock said.

Residents of the neighborhood between North Estill Avenue and Earlene Court told investigators they had heard “two to three gunshots.”

Several police vehicles responded to the scene Thursday night and blocked access to the neighborhood as the incident was investigated.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Richmond police 623-1162.
