Fifth Street man charged with vehicle theft

RICHMOND — Richmond police charged Brendan A. Strunck, 22, Fifth Street, on Monday in connection with the theft of a vehicle.

A relative of Strunck’s reported Thursday that he had stolen her Dodge Durango, valued at $3,500. The vehicle was in possession of the owner’s grandson at the time Strunck misappropriated it, according to an RPD report.

The vehicle was found Friday parked on West Walnut Street and returned to the owner.

Strunck was located Monday and interviewed, after which he was charged for theft by unlawful taking (over $500) and taken to the Madison County Detention Center.

Hill Street resident reports burglary

A resident in the 300 block of Hill Street reported Monday that his unsecured home had been entered while he was sleeping shortly after midnight and two items were stolen. The stolen items included an LG 55-inch television and an LG Blu-ray DVD player. Estimated loss: $1,255.
