Traffic accident leads to drug arrest

Richmond & Berea crime reports

Register staff report

RICHMOND — A Villa Drive woman received a felony charge and several drug-related misdemeanors following a traffic accident on Monday.

Lashaina P. Coomer, 21, was charged with tampering with physical evidence, third-degree possession of a controlled substance, driving on a suspended license, driving under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Richmond police officer was sent to Irvine Road at 9:20 p.m. after receiving a report of a non-injury traffic accident, according to an RPD news release.

After making contact with Coomer, the officer reported that she appeared impaired, and she also was driving with a suspended driver’s license.

The officer recovered several syringes and 1 ½ Xanax bars. Police Chief Larry Brock said Coomer received the felony charge of tampering with physical evidence because she reportedly attempted to conceal a syringe.
