Richmond man charged in 2012 robbery

RICHMOND — Richmond police Thursday charged Colen Wilburn, 36, of Red House Road, with second-degree robbery in connection with an incident that occurred in May 2012.

According to the report, on May 5, 2012, a guest at the Country Hearth Inn reported he was robbed of $100 by three men. The victim said he met the men and was drinking with them at the motel when they pulled him into a room, assaulted him and took the money from his wallet before fleeing. The victim suffered a bloody nose, a cut lip and an abrasion on his forehead.

Wilburn was was identified as one of the suspects involved on April 16, and a warrant was issued for his arrest, the report stated. He was served the warrant at the Madison County Detention center, where he was being held on unrelated charges, the release stated.

Lexington Road Dollar General theft

On Wednesday two employees of the Dollar General on Lexington Road reported that a man had entered the store’s break room and took items belonging to them. Reported missing: A white plastic wallet containing $5 and miscellaneous personal documents and a purple Windows 8 HTC cell phone in a purple case. Estimated loss: $460.

According to the report, the suspect was described as a white male, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a thin build and wearing a black ball cap, blue long-sleeve T-shirt and light-colored pants. He is reported to have fled on a bicycle.
