A third person, originally thought to be a robbery victim, was charged Wednesday in connection with an armed robbery that occurred March 30 on Eastern Kentucky University’s campus.
Lorenzo McWilliams II, 20, of Roswell, Ga., was charged with criminal conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, according to EKU spokesperson Marc Whitt.
Three male students reported March 30 that two men came into their Clay Hall dorm room and brandished handguns. The robbers wore white masks and fled on foot afterward, they told police.
McWilliams, a student at EKU, “initially presented to EKU police as a victim in the case,” Whitt said.
Two other men, also students, were charged earlier this month with first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary in the case. They are David D. Emmanuel, 20, of Dade City, Fla., and Zain Gilmore, 19, Tampa, Fla.
Campus police have not disclosed what was taken, stating the incident was still under investigation.
