London police chief ordered to stay away from Berea woman

RICHMOND — A woman who who moved to Berea in February 2013 after a live-in relationship with London Police Chief Stewart O. Walker has obtained an emergency protective order against him from Madison Family Court.

The order was sworn at 8:15 p.m. Friday to a Berea police officer, and a family court hearing was set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The EPO was served on Walker by Kentucky State Police, according to the London Sentinel-Echo newspaper.

In addition to having no contact with the woman, the protective order prohibits Walker from coming within 500 feet of a Berea address, a Richmond address and a Jellico, Tenn., address.

According to the petitioner’s narrative, the woman resided with Walker at a London address from August 2012 until late February 2013, when she moved to Madison County.

For most of the past year, Walker has “terrorized and stalked” her, including an incident when a KSP trooper found him in her drive way, the narrative stated.

Walker has been physically violent with her in the past, the petitioner wrote, and she fears what he may do in the future.

On April 11, she informed the London mayor of the situation, and he ordered Walker to stay away from her, according to the narrative. But he stalked her that evening and again Thursday evening, the petitioner wrote, and she filed for an EPO the next day.
