Police: Heroin found in home

Detroit man, two locals charged with trafficking heroin, marijuana

RICHMOND — A Detroit man and two Richmond residents were charged Friday morning after Richmond bike patrol officers and narcotics detectives executed a search warrant on a Dee Dee Drive home.

According to a Richmond police report, Michael Lewis, 24, of Detroit, Benjamin G. Masters, 26, and Paula L. Miller, 48, both of Richmond, were charged with drug trafficking and other offenses as a result of the search.

Officers encountered Lewis and Masters as they entered the home. Inside, officers found small amounts of heroin and marijuana along with several items of drug paraphernalia, including syringes, scales and spoons, the report stated. In addition, police said they found $2,870 on Lewis’ person.

Lewis was charged with first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. Masters was charged with criminal facilitation of trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia, both Class A misdemeanors.

The two were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, where they remained Monday afternoon, according to the jail’s online records.

Miller, identified as another resident of the home, also was charged with facilitation of trafficking later the same day. The charge was placed against her at the detention center, where she was being held on unrelated misdemeanor charges, the report stated.

Boggs Lane man charged with heroin possession, bail jumping

Police charged William A. Burns, 27, of Boggs Lane, Saturday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance and served a warrant charging him with first-degree bail jumping.

According to the report, officers responded to Red House Road after Burns was sighted in the area.

Upon arrival, officers found Burns entering the kitchen at Burgers and More. They searched the area and discovered him hiding behind a freezer in the storage room. While searching him, the officers found a spoon and a small square of paper, both of which contained suspected heroin residue, the report stated.

Burns was lodged in the detention center, where he remained Monday afternoon, according to the jail’s online records. He additionally was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and two warrants for failure to appear in court were served on him.
