Woman charged with suspected heroin found at Walmart

BEREA — Walmart employees called police Thursday after they found suspected illegal drugs in a store dressing room.

Police later charged Kelley Dillard, 30, of Shopville with first-degree possession and trafficking in a controlled substance, according to a Berea Police Department news release.

The employees went into the dressing room after Dillard left it, and inside they found a container with several balloons with an unknown substance inside them, the release stated.

Officers took the container to the police department and tested the balloons’ contents, where it was determined to be heroin, it stated.

A short time later, police were called back to Walmart because Dillard returned to the store. When she learned police had been called, she reportedly ran to a vehicle and drove away. Officers later located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

Dillard was taken to the police department to be interviewed where she admitted the container was hers, the news release stated.
