All three were charged for third-degree burglary and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
RPD: Man hid drugs in another’s home
Police charged 35-year-old Daniel B. Middleton, Lexington, for several drug offenses May 5 after discovering a tin hidden in another’s residence, according to an RPD report.
During the evening May 3, police responded to a residence in the 700 block of Sizemore Drive to investigate a domestic dispute.
When they arrived, officers learned that Middleton was one of the parties involved in the dispute. They ultimately found Middleton hiding inside a nearby apartment and took him into custody on the strength of an outstanding arrest warrant for nonpayment of fines, the police report stated. He was taken to the Madison County Detention Center but released later that day.
Officers later discovered Middleton had hidden a metal container inside the residence in which he was found without the owner’s knowledge, according to the RPD.
The tin was recovered and found to contain a clonazepam pill, half of a methadone pill, two packets of heroin, seven hypodermic needles and various other items of drug use paraphernalia, the RPD reported.
The next evening, Middleton was found at an apartment on Sizemore Drive, detained and taken to the police department for an interview.
Following the interview, Middleton was charged with two counts of first-degree possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with physical evidence.
He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center.
Man accused of robbing, burglarizing ex-girlfriend at her home
Police charged 19-year-old Matthew I. Withers, Mount Rushmore Drive, on Wednesday in connection with the unlawful entry into a residence and a forcible theft.
At 7:18 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of Kensington Place to investigate a theft report.
