KSP Post 7 issues 1,765 citations in October

RICHMOND — Troopers and detectives of Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond issued 1,765 citations in October throughout their 11-county service area.

Of the citations issued, 285 were for speeding, six for no child restraint and 277 for no seatbelts.

Twenty individuals were charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Troopers issued 456 courtesy notices, and assisted 58 stranded motorists, while inspecting 1,845 vehicles.

The post investigated 55 traffic collisions during the month.

Detectives and troopers also investigated 961 complaints, opened 77 criminal cases and made 178 criminal arrests.

In addition to Madison, the post covers Boyle, Lincoln, Mercer, Garrard, Jessamine, Clark, Lee, Estill, Owsley and Jackson counties.
