KSP Post in Richmond issued nearly 1,800 tickets last month

RICHMOND — Troopers and detectives with Kentucky State Police Post 7 in Richmond issued 1,790 citations in September. Of those, 238 were for speeding, 12 for not using child restraints and 250 for not using seat belts.

Twenty-nine people were charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

The statistics were released Monday by Capt. Lisa Rudzinski, the Richmond post commander.

Troopers also issued 588 courtesy notices and assisted 61 stranded motorists while inspecting 2,247 vehicles.

The post investigated 48 traffic collisions during the month.

Detectives and troopers investigated 1,028 complaints, opened 71 criminal cases and made 291 criminal arrests, according to the news release.

In addition to Madison, the post covers Clark, Estill, Garrard, Jackson, Jessamine, Boyle, Lee, Lincoln, Mercer and Owsley counties.
