RICHMOND — The Richmond police are investigating five burglaries and thefts reported since Aug. 5.
• A resident in the 100 block of Manna Drive reported that his unknown-brand maroon mountain bicycle had been stolen from outside his apartment during the previous day. Estimated loss: $800.
• A resident in the 100 block of Buckwood Drive reported that a red Echo gas weed trimmer, model SRM225, had been stolen from his unsecured garage during the past week. Estimated loss: $229.
• The owner of a vacant home on Janwell Drive reported that the residence had been broken into over the weekend and a considerable amount of copper piping had been cut and removed from the basement. Entry was believed to have been gained through an unlocked rear window. Estimated loss: $1,000.
The owner of CKI on Boggs Lane, reported that his business had been broken into during the night and a number of collectible toys had been stolen. Entry was gained by forcing open a broken bay door.
Reported missing were: an unknown make yellow pull car; a red fire truck pedal car; two blue pedal cars; a yellow pedal car; a small tractor trailer toy; a small riding toy with a saddle seat; and two antique and rusted red tricycles. Estimated loss: $2,540.
