Two men were arrested on firearms and drug-related charges Friday at the scene of a shooting on Meadowlark Drive.
Shelby Noe III, 27, of Robbinsville Loop, and Justin M. Howell, 28, of Lewis Drive, were both charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, unlawful possession of meth precursors and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Noe also was charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and Howell was charged with illegal possession of a legend drug.
Officers were dispatched at 7:21 a.m. Friday to the 100 block of Meadowlark Drive after receiving a report about a shooting, according to an RPD news release.
A female victim at the home had a wound, possibly caused by a shotgun, to her lower leg, the report stated. She was transported to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment.
Noe and Howell were detained at the scene, and a search of their vehicle produced two handguns, a bag of several precursors used to make methamphetamine, a small bag of suspected meth and a hollowed-out ink pen, according to the release.
A container with five propranolol pills was found under the vehicle, the release state. The pills were linked to Howell, and he also had a syringe on him, the RPD reported.
Both men were taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
The Richmond Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting incident.
Stolen car recovered, man charged with receiving stolen property
A car reported stolen last week has been recovered, and a Rice Court man was charged Saturday in connection with its theft, according to the RPD.
Logan Browning, 21, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property (over $10,000).
The 2012 Nissan Sentra, worth $19,000, was reported stolen Nov. 18 from the parking lot of the owner’s home in the 200 block of South Porter Drive.
A Berea police officer stopped the the vehicle Saturday and found Browning was driving it, according to the RPD release.
