RPD: Man flees theft charges with 17-year-old

RICHMOND — Andrew Wilson, 21, of Manna Drive, was charged with custodial interference and theft-related charges after fleeing to Florida with a minor, according to Richmond Police Department news release.

On June 15, a representative of a construction company working in Lexington reported to Lexington police that tools had been stolen from a storage area at a work site.

Police determined Wilson was in possession of one of the tools and had transferred it to someone in Richmond, the release stated.
A resident of the Spurlin Mobile Home Park reported July 8 to Richmond police that Wilson had left for Florida, and he had taken the resident’s 17-year-old grandson without permission from her or family court.

Wilson later was found in Woodford County by the sheriff’s office there and arrested on a warrant charging him with custodial interference and another charging him with receiving stolen property (under $500) and theft by deception (under $500).

He was lodged in the Woodford County Jail where he remained Thursday pending transportation back to Madison County, the report stated.

Man charged in connection with two thefts

Jeremy Rice, 21, was charged with receiving stolen property (under $10,000) and second-degree burglary in connection with thefts earlier this month from a home and a vehicle.

A resident of Evansdale Avenue reported July 20 that her home had been burglarized and an Apex 46-inch television, valued at $300, was taken.
A resident of Brandy Lane reported July 22 several tools were stolen from his unlocked vehicle during the night. Reported missing were a Dewalt laser, a Dewalt grinder, a Rigid drill, a Bosch hammer drill, an unknown brand drill and a bag of miscellaneous hand tools, valued together at $1,569.

According to the police report, investigators determined Rice and Christina Bratcher, who was arrested Tuesday, had been in possession of about $910 worth of the tools. Some of the tools were recovered.
Rice was found Wednesday morning on North First Street and charged.

He was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center, where he remained Thursday afternoon, according to the jail's online records.
