Man and woman face theft, drug charges

RICHMOND — Richmond police charged two people Saturday in connection with a Villa Drive burglary the previous day.

Johnathon W. Nester, 21, and Misty L. Wilson, 29, were arrested, and Nester was charged with second-degree burglary.

A resident reported Friday that his apartment had been burglarized that afternoon, and a Sanyo 40-inch television was stolen, according to a Richmond police report.

Nester was identified as a suspect, the report stated, and he was arrested the next day. Later Saturday, police found Wilson, who they believed to be an accomplice.

Richmond police said Wilson had transferred the stolen TV to another party shortly after the burglary, and Nester was with her when the exchange was made.

Wilson was driving a car near Villa Drive when an RPD officer performed a traffic stop. During the stop, the officer reported finding suspected heroin, Xanax pills and other prescription medications in Wilson’s purse along with cut straws.

Wilson was cited and released on the charges of first- and third-degree possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property (under $500), theft by deception (under $500), illegal possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A passenger in Wilson’s vehicle, Matthew K. Tatum, 24, of Baker Court, also was arrested on charges of violating a domestic violence order, possession of marijuana and first-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Tatum was under a court order not to have contact with Wilson, according to the RPD.

Berean charged with breaking into home, attacking woman

A Berea woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with entering her former boyfriend’s home and attacking another woman.

Linda N. Gadd, 23, of Flat Gap Road, was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree assault.

Officers responded to a call March 16 about a reported assault in the 1000 block of Race Street. When the RPD arrived, they learned that Gadd had entered the residence of her former boyfriend without permission, according to the report.

Gadd is accused of striking a woman at the home in the face and scratching her. Gadd fled the scene when a neighbor intervened, the report said.

The victim had a bruise to her face and several scratch marks on her arms.

A warrant was issued March 26 for Gadd, and she was found April 17 in Rockcastle County by the Kentucky State Police.
