Three Richmond men charged in armed robbery

RICHMOND — Richmond police arrested three men Tuesday in connection with a robbery that occurred Monday evening at a Villa Drive residence.

Officers charged Michael D. Kirby, 44; Phillip S. Lamb, 42; and Bryan Scott Lamb, 24, with first-degree robbery and first-degree criminal mischief after the apartment residents reported three men robbed and assaulted them, according to an RPD report.

The residents told police that Kirby, an acquaintance, arrived at the apartment in the 900 block of Villa Drive in the company of another man, who police later identified as Phillip Lamb. Both men were allowed inside.

While the residents were speaking to the two, a neighbor told them there was a third man, Bryan Lamb, standing outside wearing a mask, the report stated. When a female resident then opened the door, she said Bryan Lamb asked to use the telephone. One of the men already inside said Bryan Lamb was with them, and he was allowed inside, residents told police.

After using the phone, Bryan Lamb grabbed the female resident and pointed an object believed to be a handgun at her head, the report stated. He demanded all the residents’ money. One of the three men also held a kitchen knife to the woman’s throat later during the incident, according to the RPD.

Kirby and Phillip Lamb went through the man’s pockets and took about $50, the residents reported. As the three men were leaving the apartment, the male resident asked why they were robbing him. The three then assaulted him before leaving in a vehicle, the report stated.

The man suffered cuts and bruises to his face, arms and legs. Several items of property were damaged during the assault, the report said. 

Officers reported finding the vehicle seen at the robbery at the Lambs’ home on Keri Ann Drive. They found the suspects inside with two women, the report stated. After initially refusing to come out, the three men surrendered. They were transported to the police station, where they were interviewed and charged.

According to the report, Bryan Lamb additionally was charged with violating a domestic violence order that prohibited him from having contact with one of the women in the Keri Ann Drive residence.

All three were lodged in the Madison County Detention Center where they remained Thursday afternoon, according to the jail’s online records.
