Richmond KSP post arrests 264 in November

RICHMOND — The Kentucky State Police Post 7 on Monday released a report summing up its activity for the month of November.

According to the release, troopers and detectives in the 11-county region investigated 1,035 complaints, opened 79 criminal cases and made 264 criminal arrests during the month. They also investigated 66 traffic collisions.

In addition, troopers and detectives issued 1,862 citations: 410 for speeding, 4 for lack of child restraints and 134 for not wearing seat belts.

24 individuals in the area were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Troopers issued 430 courtesy notices, inspected 1,549 vehicles and assisted 70 stranded motorists, the release stated.


13 die in Ky crashes last week

According to a KSP release, 13 people died in Kentucky road accidents during the final week of November.

Four of the fatalities occurred before Thanksgiving in Boone, Calloway, Jefferson and Whitley counties.

Seven more fatalities occurred between Wednesday evening and Sunday morning, including a double-fatality in Green County and single fatalities in Graves, Knox, Marshall, Owsley and Warren Counties.

The fatalities in Graves, Owsley and Warren counties all involved people not wearing seat belts, and all three are are suspected to involve the use of alcohol, the report stated.

Also reported was a fatal motorcycle accident in Daviess County and a pedestrian killed in Jefferson County who was hit by an automobile.
