Man charged with robbery, trafficking after assault

RICHMOND — Theft form vehicle

On Tuesday, a complainant reported that items were stolen from his vehicle while he was inside Wal-Mart early in the afternoon.

The man told police he parked his truck with an open trailer attached outside the store. When he returned, a Porter cable air compressor with hoses and a Stihl chainsaw were missing.

A witness reported seeing two men in a white, 4-door Dodge Avenger remove the items and put them in their vehicle and leave.

One of the two men was described as white, approximately 40 years old, 5 ft. 10 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with a very long beard and long hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

The second man was about 35 years old, 5 ft. 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, clean shaven with a crew cut, and wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.

Theft from residence

A complainant reported a Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol was stolen from his residence in the 100 block of Killarney Lane 1 and 9 p.m. Thursday when visitors were there, according to an RPD report.

Estimated loss: $300.

Burglary

A complainant reported Sunday that a red Craftsman 22-inch, 625 Gold Series push mower was stolen from an unsecured shed in the back yard of a Longview Drive home during the previous three days. Estimated loss: $160.

    Richmond Police on Friday charged Robert Abney, 30, of Moberly Avenue, in connection with a May 30 explosion that injured Abney and damaged a neighbor’s home.
    Officers were dispatched May 30 to a residence in the 500 block of Moberly Avenue to investigate the report of an explosion.
    They found the remains of a plastic bottle bomb near a residence adjoining Moberly’s, according to an RPD news release. A wall of the occupied home was smoldering and grass was burned in the area, it added.

    She was charged with complicity after police said they learned Lawson knew of the crimes but didn’t try to stop them or alert authorities.
