RICHMOND — A Richmond store was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night on South Second Street near Eastern Kentucky University’s campus.

This is the sixth grocery/convenience store robbery in Madison County during the past six weeks.

A man entered Babylon Market, 298 S. Second St., at 7:57 p.m., brandished a handgun and demanded money, according to a Richmond police report.

The robber left the store after receiving the money from the register and ran toward the area of Wellington Court. Richmond police were unable to find him.

The amount of money stolen was undetermined at the time of the report, according to the RPD.

The suspect was a white man wearing a forest-green hoodie, a red EKU beanie cap and black gloves.
