Hurricanes ‘favorite’ weekend TV viewing

Hi!

Yards are getting a little brown around here. I believe they’re thirsty! Perhaps one of the “named” hurricanes in the Atlantic (three the last I heard) will blow some rain our way. What do you think?

Do you find yourself mesmerized by the coverage of the weather, especially when there’s a hurricane on the way? “Gustav” was our favorite TV viewing this past holiday weekend; now we have “Hannah,” “Ike,” and “Josephine” seemingly on their way to visit us. After thinking about it, I believe I’ll take the brown grass.

You are invited to a gospel singing at Waco Pentecostal Tabernacle on Flint Road at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Southern Gospel artist Josh Lanier, editor of the Gospel magazine “Christian Voice,” and former singer with the group of Tony Gore, will be in concert. A love offering will be taken. For more information, call 624-1542.

Congratulations to Brandon and Courtney Marshall on the birth of their first child, daughter Cloey DeeAnn, born Monday evening at Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center (a real “Labor” Day event)! Congratulations everyone!

Happy birthday wishes go out to Joshua Scott Brandenburg (#1 grandson), who will turn 18 on Friday (who is also a new official driver)! Happy birthday wishes also go out to Robert Gross who will be 7 on Saturday and to Bradley Clay Brandenburg who will be 39 on Saturday!

That’s about it for this week. Try to stay cool and tune in for more hurricane coverages. Have you noticed paper towel “cores” have been getting larger lately? I suppose we’re supposed not to notice that there is less towel and more cardboard in the middle, you think?
