Kirksville Baptist auction set Saturday

Donna Moberly

Hello Everyone. Everyone loves an auction. So here is your chance. The Kirksville Baptist Church is having a remodeling project auction March 28 at 9 a.m. All items will be on display for your viewing at 7 a.m. This auction will be to help raise funds for their remodeling project.

Items to be auctioned will be from the old sanctuary and Sunday school rooms such as chairs, tables, doors, chandeliers, cabinets, desk and much more. Everyone is also invited to bring items to donate for the auction as well.

Then on Sunday at 7 p.m., the church-wide fellowship will be the men’s chili cook-off. So men, bring your prize-winning chili and compete for first place. Have your chili there by 6:30 p.m. for the judging. Everyone else is asked to bring the extras such as crackers, cheese, veggies, sandwiches and desserts. Don’t forget the water just in case some of the men get carried away with the hot sauce.

Rickey Horn from the Full Gospel Tabernacle will be preaching on WLJC on Friday night. The program starts at 7 p.m. So turn on your TV and tune in for some good preaching. If you have the new converter box, you may even be able to pick up this channel now.

Then at 7 p.m. Saturday, Proof of Grace from the Full Gospel Tabernacle will be at Easter Valley Baptist Church for a singing. Call Steve and Pam Isaacs, 723-2950 for direction to Barnes Mountain in Irvine.

A lot of things are going on in Kirksville, but who can help it. The weather is starting to get warm and pretty. The flowers are starting to bloom and the feeling of spring is in the air. It just makes you want to do a lot of outside work, changes and improvements. I thinks it helps to get rid of the remnants of the winter and start thinking new.
