    When Denise Discepoli, art teacher at Model Laboratory School, was in Japan last fall for Madison County’s Sister Region exchange, she met two artists who expressed interest in bringing their works to Kentucky.
    On Tuesday, the Gallery on Main hosted a reception for Yoko Shimura and Akoko Nakazawa, whose work will hang in the gallery until Monday. The exhibit is part of the gallery’s Women of Whimsy series.

    The Madison Community Band and the Madison Central High School Wind Ensemble, 107 instrumentalists combined, performed a concert of patriotic music Sunday afternoon in a tribute to America’s military veterans.

    About 300 people attended the concert in Madison Central’s auditorium.
