Madison Strings begin classes Sept. 11

Special to the Register

RICHMOND — “Get down your ‘fiddle’ and resin up your bow.”

It’s time to register for the Madison Strings.

Two levels of strings will be taught Wednesday evenings beginning Sept. 11 at the Richmond Area Arts Center, 399 W. Water St.

Strings 1 will rehearse 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. and Strings 2 will rehearse 6:15 to 7 p.m.  Some instruments are available for rental from the Arts Council.

Tuition for the fall semester is $75.

The Madison Strings is under the leadership of Jaleeta Edwards, a performance major in the Eastern Kentucky University music program.

Students in the Madison Strings are actively engaged as they learn to play one of the most beautiful instruments of all time, both solo and in a group setting.
