RICHMOND — Reception is Oct. 17

Make plans today to visit a wonderful photography exhibit at the Richmond Area Arts Center, 399 W. Water St.

The already-open exhibit can be seen from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. It runs through Nov. 1.

It features photographs taken by Madison County Circuit Court Clerk Darlene Snyder. All photographs are for sale and admission to the exhibit is free!

A reception and artist talk will take place Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Arts Center. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the exhibit, enjoy great food and meet Darlene.

She is owner of Kentucky Scenes LLC and maintains her own website. Her goal is to grow the website into a showcase for Kentucky photographers to upload and share/sell their art.

Darlene grew up in Madison County where her rural farm and community upbringing gave her a passion for all things Kentucky. Her work features country scenes including barnyards, old barns, old trucks,and historical buildings. She also loves taking pictures of Kentucky streets, animals and nature.

Darlene is author of a local church and community history book, “Casting Bread Upon the Water: A History of Kirksville Baptist Church,” which offers a glimpse into the crossroads community of Kirksville.

Several of her articles have been published in magazines, including: The Lookout Magazine, Heartland, Kentucky Monthly and The Seeker.

Her photography has been published in Kentucky Monthly with one photo chosen for the magazine’s cover.

Darlene captures Kentucky with a unique eye, turning her photographs into a visual history of Kentucky and the lives of the people who live there.
