Students learn new skills and have fun in this outstanding after-school program.

Micheal Gullatte, the parent of two students in the after-school arts program at Shannon Johnson Elementary, has this to share:

“The RAAC after-school program is one of the best programs our family has had the privilege to be part of. We are a military family and have lived in California, Indiana and Tennessee. We now reside in Berea. The RAAC after-school program at Shannon Johnson has inspired our children and given them a better understanding of the world around them. It is rewarding to come home from work or school and hear our children talking about how much fun they had in their classes and what they learned.

“Even better is their overall advancement in the arts and how much they are improving daily. Our children tell of famous artists and musical pieces which has helped them in other classes as well. We enjoy listening to our children play the piano and proudly display their artwork at home. Thank you RAAC for your program!”

Classes are held five days per week at three hub schools: Glenn Marshall, White Hall and Shannon Johnson. Transportation is provided to one of the hub schools from most Madison County public schools.

Students from St. Mark, Berea Community, Bluegrass Christian, Model or home schools are encouraged to enroll as well but must furnish their own transportation. Classes follow the Madison County School schedule.
