Treble Clef Youth Chorus still accepting members

Special to the Register

RICHMOND — La, la, la la! The Richmond Area Arts Council is still accepting spring semester registrations for the Treble Clef Youth Chorus.

This outstanding chorus continues to grow and gain recognition throughout the region.  Your child needs no prior experience, just the desire to sing.

Students in grades 1 through 10 may register online at www.artsinrichmond.org, by phone at 859-624-4242 or email debbie@artsinrichmond.org. Tuition for the spring semester is $60.

Rehearsals are conducted each Monday evening from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Richmond Area Arts Center, 399 W. Water Street.

The Treble Clef Youth Chorus is directed by veteran choral director Deborah Kidd. She taught vocal music for 34 years and is in demand as guest conductor and adjudicator throughout the state.

She currently serves as president of the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) and was recognized as KMEA’s Elementary Music Teacher of the Year in 2009 and received KMEA’s Citation for Service award in 2012.

“The students in the Treble Clef Youth Chorus are doing an outstanding job and we can welcome new members throughout February,” she said.

Linda Hensley is accompanist for the Youth Chorus. She is in demand as an accompanist and piano teacher and even played for Lawrence Welk’s 75th birthday party. She has served as musical director for numerous Broadway Shows and performed as a solo artist.
