RAAC’s Rio Carnival is Feb. 28

Special to the Register

RICHMOND — Shake off the winter blues with RAAC’s “Rio Carnival” at the EKU Performing Arts Center’s lobby Friday, Feb. 28, from 7 to 10 p.m.

Admission is $30 and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, live music, jugglers, drinks, cash bar and more.

The roots of the Rio Carnival can be traced back to the ancient Greeks and Romans who celebrated the arrival of spring with parties and music.

Enjoy a Latin jazz combo playing distinctive Latin jazz and bossa novas. Instruments will include vibes, piano/guitar, bass, drums and saxophone played by professional musicians.

In addition, patrons will enjoy the talents of jugglers from the Cincinnati Circus, beads, masks and great food.

Make plans today to attend Richmond’s first Rio Carnival. This event is guaranteed to warm you up as you enjoy a carnival atmosphere.

Attire is business casual or traditional carnival attire. Door prizes will be announced throughout the evening.
