Painting class at RAAC three Wednesdays in October

Special to the Register

RICHMOND —

The holidays are just around the corner and nothing says you care like original artwork created by you.

Call RAAC today at 624-4242 to register for an outstanding class taught by one of Richmond’s most talented artists, Jessie Arrowood.

Classes will be conducted on Wednesdays, Oct. 16, 23 and 30, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Richmond Area Arts Center, 399 W. Water St.

In addition to a hand-painted snowman ornament, patrons will paint a beautiful floral design on canvas.

No prior painting experience is necessary. Jessie will guide you through the process and provide assistance as needed.

“Keep your artwork yourself or give to friends and family as special gifts this holiday season,” Jessie suggests.

Tuition for all three classes and materials is only $50. Patrons should purchase a liner (small paintbrush with a pointed tip) and a quarter-inch flat paintbrush prior to the class. All other materials will be furnished.

Jessie and her husband, Bill, moved to Richmond 10 years ago. She discovered her love for painting as a young mother, when she took her first Tole painting class. She has painted on tin, canvas, wood and furniture.

For Jessie, painting is therapeutic and any problem seems smaller with a paint brush in her hand. Her desire is for her students to enjoy painting as much as she does.

Make plans to attend these classes and bring out the inner artist in you.
