“We are pleased to announce that two members of the Treble Clef Youth Chorus have been accepted as members of the Kentucky Children’s Chorus,” Kidd said.

Acceptance into the state chorus is based on a stringent audition process for students in grades 5 and 6 from across Kentucky.

Katrina Godsey, a student at Model Laboratory School, and Sydney Jones, a student at Clark-Moores Middle School were the Treble Clef members selected for the state honors chorus.

The Kentucky Children’s Chorus Concert will be Thursday, 5:15 p.m. Feb. 6 in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Center in Louisville as part of the Kentucky Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference.

“We are all proud of these students and know they will represent us well as they perform with 200 of the best chorus students in Kentucky,” Kidd said.

She currently is President of the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA), was recognized as KMEA’s “Elementary Music Teacher of the Year” in 2009 and received KMEA’s  “Citation for Service” award in 2012.

“We had an outstanding fall semester and each Trebel Clef student made tremendous progress. The students work hard and love to showcase their talent,” Kidd said.

Linda Hensley is the Treble Clef accompanist and everyone enjoys spending time with her.  she is in demand as an accompanist and piano teacher and even played for Lawrence Welk’s 75th birthday party. She has served as musical director for numerous Broadway Shows and has performed as a solo artist.
