Still time to join the Madison Strings

Special to the Register

RICHMOND — “Get down your ‘fiddle’ and resin up your bow.” There’s still time to join the Madison Strings.

Two levels of strings are being taught Wednesday evenings this semester at the Richmond Area Arts Council, 399 W. Water St.

Strings 1 rehearse 5:45 to 6:30 p.m. and Strings 2 will rehearse 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Some instruments are available for rental through the Arts Council. Tuition for the spring semester is $75.

The Madison Strings are under the direction of Jaleeta Edwards, a music performance at Eastern Kentucky University. The assistant is Jenny Clarke.

Students are actively engaged as they learn to play some of the most beautiful instruments of all time both alone and in a group setting. Current students receive instruction in violin and cello.
