“Does your child or grandchild have talent? Then encourage them to enter the Madison’s Got Talent competition May 16,” said Deborah Kidd, executive director of the Richmond Area Arts Council.

Entry forms are available from music teachers in local schools or at the Richmond Area Arts Center, 399 W. Water St.
Madison County students in fourth- through 12th-grade may enter to showcase their talents in vocal, instrumental, dance and variety performances.
The show starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday, May 16, in the Madison Central High School theater. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for students. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Each student entry will receive a participation ribbon and winners will be selected in individual, small- and large-group categories. An over-all winner also will be named.
Schools may enter three small groups (one to eight members) or two small groups and one large group (more than nine members). Interested students should contact their school music teacher or the Richmond Area Arts Council.
Masters of ceremony for Madison’s Got Talent will be Jenna Day, Miss Kentucky 2013, and Laura Hancock, Miss Kentucky Outstanding Teen 2013. Both will perform their talents for the audience as the judges make their decisions.
Day is a senior at the University of Kentucky majoring in vocal performance and political science. Hancock is a classical pianist and vocalist.
